Lovespoon History
Lovespoons were originally carved by the man to give to the woman who had caught his eye. The symbols used would convey the message he was trying to give.
The woman accepting the lovespoon was not an early form of engagement, neither was it as acceptance for courtship to begin.
Lovespoons traditionally are hand carved from one piece of wood, not mass produced by machine like so many of the lovespoons available today are.
